It’s no surprise that we love smart subscription companies that brighten up our lives! Bloom & Wild is a brilliant British start up, offering flowers through the post – in a box that fits through your letterbox! Birchbox Sr. Editorial Manager Beth tried the service out:
I love filling my home with fresh, mood-lifting flowers, but I’m pretty particular about what I like. My local Farmer’s Market in Brockley has been my go-to for a while, offering wild combinations of flowers that I haven’t been able to find at florists. Enter: Bloom & Wild.
When my colleague Phill introduced me to the company I was totally intrigued – how would delicate blooms be able to survive a trip through a letterbox and survive? When my first cardboard box arrived, bearing the Bloom & Wild logo, I noticed how the delicate flowers are carefully packed flower-to-stem in little hoods and wrapped up in cellophane with a pretty purple bow. Each parcel comes with care instructions, plant food and a suggestion of how to arrange them by florist Vanessa Birley – they even tell you why their flowers last longer than your average supermarket blossom.
My first arrangement was a gorgeous deep purple and ivory arrangement – including lilac daisies! –, while the second that arrived a week later was a beautiful burst of pinks. The third was a elegant selection of greenery and white flowers – I’m seriously impressed with how long they stayed fresh and beautiful.
Delivered on a Thursday, there are three price points and the option to get them delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly. I think it’s clear, I’m utterly sold after trying it out and I’m signing up for the fortnightly option!
