Sometimes a brand comes along and they might not have the largest products offering, or the most marketing budget to spend on proliferating their brand, but the products speak for themselves because they work – they really work. One such brand is Dr. Jackson’s Natural Products. New to our e-shop, but not new to my bathroom cabinet (I am a long-standing devotee), the brand is succinct, chic, natural and has a heart. Dr. Simon Jackson, founder and decorated scientist, sources incredible ingredients straight out of Africa, helping communities to sustain themselves along the way, and then formulates them in his labs. He also happens to be one of the nicest men in the beauty industry (follow him on Instagram for fun facts about his travels as well as weird and wonderful ingredients). Here is the lowdown on my top three products in his range, which, incidentally, are ideal for the cold winter snap we seem to be experiencing.
An anti-inflammatory day cream, this is perfect for days when you need to face the cold, without it having a detrimental effect to… Well… Your face! Combined with an SPF20 (you still need to protect your skin in the winter) and Dr. Jackson’s hero ingredients from Africa, Kigelia (which restores skin elasticity) and Baobab (it’s six times more potent than vitamin C), it’s a lightweight formula that is still packed full of goodness.
Is your skin thirsty? Give it a massive glug of nourishment in the evenings with this wondrous face oil. Ideal for dull, dry sensitive, eczema or rosacea-prone skin, it’s also excellent for men to soothe shaving rash. As well as containing Baobab mentioned above, this oil’s power lies in its Marula, an oil which is extracted from the nuts of the Marula ‘Miracle’ tree in Africa. They don’t call it miracle for nothing – this baby works like a charm. Skin feels restored from the minute you apply.
Ok, so we know about Kigelia, we know about Baobab, and we know about Marula. Throw some Sea-Buckthorn into the mix, and you have this body perfecting gel, a formula which is high in anti-oxidants as well as being nourishing, firming, soothing, and brilliant for tired skin that needs a bit of its lustre back.
